The second part of the National Competition programme continues the review of the best Lithuanian short films in the recent years. In the programme - five films gazing at the world sensitively and reflectively; where the unknown and scary part of our life is described, inevitable choices are made, crush that threatens someone's life and also the behind the scenes of the work of the State Commission of the Lithuanian Language.

For some, it’s an institution which safeguards the most important principles of the language, but for others, it’s an anachronism of the Soviet regime. This film offers a first-time glimpse into the commission’s work.

A middle-aged man named Kolia receives a letter with four choices. One of them leads to the birth of a baby to a previously infertile wife. At first he thinks that fate is finally in his hands, after receiving the other letters, he realizes that he can not opt out of the act of choosing.

Winter in Soviet Lithuanian School. School authorities introduce regular quartz lamp sessions - so that children could receive a missing vitamin D amount. But for the sixth-grader Pijus, vitamin D is not important, he cares about a cool classmate, sadly this is a one-sided feeling. During the first quartz lamp session, the boy bravely violates the rules in order to impress his crush.

Tekle with her daugther Ema comes back from abroad to visit Dalia, Tekle’s mother. Ema goes outside to walk her grandmothers dog. Immediately after discovering that Ema went outside alone Dalia starts searching for her. Dalia fears that something terrible might have happened to Ema.
